Energy Web Chain -> Mainnet

How to

Notice: the bridge is not making transactions on the Ethereum mainnet. This must be done by users, so using this bridge in this direction will require 2 transactions: 1 on the Energy Web Chain side and 1 on the Ethereum mainnet side afterwards.

  1. You have to select Energy Web Chain in Metamask as your network

    • You might need to refresh the page after doing so

  2. Choose a token from the list that you would like to bring over

    1. You can bridge any token that is not on the list too. Simply add it by address first.

  3. Approve/unlock: you need to authorize the bridge contract to manage the funds. This you have to do for every smart contract in general so it's a common practice.

    1. Tip: Enable infinite unlock in the settings so you have to do this step once and never again for the same address. It literally costs nothing on EWC, but might be annoying to do it every time.

  4. Transfer! After your transaction is mined on the Energy Web Chain wait for the confirmation time to pass and the bridge validators to pick it up.

  5. Change to Ethereum Mainnet in Metamask and refresh the page

  6. Claim your tokens.They should be there for you ready to claim. It needs a transaction on the Ethereum mainnet.

    1. You might see a big gas cost setting for the claim transaction. This is just a large safety margin to be sure the transaction has enough gas to execute. In reality, the costs will be significantly smaller and you get those refunded automatically.
